In compare to processed honey it has better taste, aroma and texture raw honey looks little bit cloudy because it naturally contains some particles of pollen and wax.

Why Choose Raw Honey Over Regular Honey?

Whenever we think about honey first thing which comes in our mind a shiny bottle, but in reality most of them are processed , during processing most of enzymes, vitamins & its antioxidants are removed because of high heat and heavily filtration but on the other side raw honey stays in its natural form, without heating without heavy filtration thats why its enzymes, amino acids, pollen and antioxidants use to be safe, raw honey taste and aroma use to change with every floral but the taste of mostly processed honey are same because they are made uniform after blending, and most of processed honey are adulterated with sugar syrup, corn syrup, or with  rice syrup but in raw honey direct comes from hive to jar.

Benefits of Raw Honey

Raw honey is not only a natural sweetener, but it is also a medicine in both Ayurveda and modern science. When honey is extracted directly from the hive without heating or adulteration, the enzymes, vitamins, minerals, pollen and antioxidants present in it are preserved. This is why the benefits of raw honey are much more than ordinary or processed honey.

  1. Boosts immunity (antioxidants)- Present natural antioxidants and phytonutrients in raw honey protect the body from free radicals, it’s regular consumption makes the immune system strong, and protects from seasonal infections like cold and cough.

  2. Improves digestion- Raw honey strengthens the digestive system; the enzymes present in it help to digest food easily and reduce problems like constipation and gas. Consuming it with lukewarm water and lemon in the morning increases metabolism and helps in detoxification.

  3. Natural energy booster- Processed sugar gives instant energy to the body, but it also harms it. On the other hand, raw honey is a slow-releasing natural energy booster. Athletes and yoga practitioners take it as an energy supplement

  4. Helps with sore throat & cough- In Ayurveda, honey is considered a Kapha balancer. It provides relief from problems like sore throat, cough, and asthma. If taken with lukewarm water or ginger, it works like a natural cough syrup.

  5. Good for skin & hair- Raw honey has anti-bacterial and moisturising properties, and it is beneficial for acne, scars and dryness. Applying it to the face makes the skin soft and glowing

  6. Wound healing- From ancient times, honey has been used to heal wounds; its anti-microbial properties help to heal wounds quickly and protect them from bacteria.

  7. Heart and Blood health- Raw honey improves blood circulation and balances cholesterol levels. The antioxidants present in it strengthen the heart and reduce the risk of heart disease.

Why MadhuVeda Raw Honey is the Best in India

There are many honey brands available in the market today, but most of them are either processed or likely to be adulterated with different types of syrups such as corn syrup, rice syrup, etc. And even those brands that present themselves as “pure raw honey sellers” are sometimes involved in scams by beekeepers.

Here’s what really happens: when bees seal the honeycomb with a thin layer of wax, the honey that is extracted after removing that wax seal is pure raw honey in the truest sense. But in order to increase production, many beekeepers extract the honey before it gets sealed and then leave it in direct sunlight. This reduces the higher moisture content and makes it appear like pure raw honey.

Now, while this process fulfils the beekeeper’s motive, many of the beneficial compounds of raw honey die because of exposure to sunlight. In other words, you can consider it a form of indirect heating.

Think of it like this: you may not smoke yourself, but if someone is smoking next to you, you end up inhaling and exhaling the smoke. In the eyes of the world, you are not smoking, but your health is still being damaged. Similarly, the beekeeper may not be directly heating the honey, but the compounds inside require only a certain amount of heat to be destroyed, and sunlight provides exactly that.

This is why, from a consumer’s point of view, it becomes very difficult to identify truly pure raw honey. Before launching Madhuveda, we looked at these problems, after which we felt that people should have a choice when it comes to purity. Let’s see how MadhuVeda is different from others and why MadhuVeda Raw Honey is the Best in India.

  1. 100% Pure & Sealed raw Honey

At Madhuveda, whenever our beekeepers extract honey, their goal is not to focus on more production but to deliver pure raw  honey  to every home in India

  2. Free from Adulteration & Additives

No batch number of Madhuveda honey is adulterated or contains any additives, because our goal was never to sell more honey or make more profit, but to become the choice of those people who want completely raw honey

  3. No Heating, No Processing

Madhuveda Honey is never heated or processed because processing and heating destroy the essential compounds of honey, and honey becomes just a sweet syrup.

  4. Ethical Beekeeping: No Harm to Bees

At Madhuveda, we never harm bees or destroy their colonies just for the sake of honey. Our only aim is to ensure that no bee suffers during the extraction process. Unlike in villages, where people often squeeze the hives to extract honey—destroying the colony along with its pupae and larvae—we follow a completely cruelty-free method.

  5. No Preservatives or Artificial Texture

Unlike processed honey, we do not use any preservatives to alter the natural colour of honey. We believe that whatever nature gives should be delivered to you in its purest form—directly extracted from the hives and packed into the jar, without any middleman.

  6. Transparency You Can Trust

From sourcing to extraction, everything happens under strict monitoring — in front of our own eyes. This way, we ensure that what reaches you is genuine honey, untouched and unaltered.

How to Identify Pure Raw Honey at Home

Today’s era honey is 3rd most adulterated FMCG product after milk and olive oil, because honey demand is higher than its supply & to reduce price and to make higher margins, most of the market honey are adulterated with corn syrup, rice syrup & sugar syrup So now it has become very important that you learn to identify real honey, that too at home. Although lab testing is a better option, but it is very costly, that is why you can identify fake honey at home by some methods.

  • Water Test:

Put some honey in a glass of water. Real honey settles down, while fake honey dissolves in water immediately.

  • Thumb Test:

Keep some small amount of honey on your thumb. If it spreads or starts flowing, it may be adulterated. Real honey is thick and stays put.

  • Flame Test (Carefully):
Apply honey to cotton and burn it. Cotton containing pure honey burns easily, while the moisture and adulteration present in fake honey do not allow it to burn.

It is mentioned in ancient texts that honey improves digestion, calms the mind and fills the body with energy. Honey has been used everywhere, from worship to Ayurvedic medicines.

Faq

Many people think that raw honey should not be consumed during pregnancy, but raw honey is 100% safe even during pregnancy. However, we still suggest that you consult your doctor about it once.

Raw honey can crystallise, and hence it is proof of its purity. The processed honey available in the market does not crystallise even in winter because it is processed at high heat, due to which its crystallisation increases so much that it remains in liquid form for 1 to 1.5 years without any crystallisation. But you will see raw honey in liquid form in the summer, and it will start crystallising in the winter.

Bee makes raw honey, To make raw honey, bees take nectar and pollen from many flowers which they keep in their hives, due to which the water level in it comes down from 28% to 18%, and the bee seals the hives with a layer of wax after which we get completely raw honey, this process is a bit long but in short the whole process is like this.

The glycemic index of sugar is between 65 and 70, whereas the glycemic index of raw honey is between 35 and 55. This is much less than sugar, but a diabetic patient should not take more than 1 or 2 spoons of raw honey daily. Make any decision only after consulting the doctor.

To preserve raw honey perfectly, every time after using it, close the lid tightly and do not allow any water to come into it, nor put a spoon in it that has already been dipped in water. Do not keep raw honey in direct sunlight nor in the refrigerator. Keep it in a dry and clean place at room temperature.

Sometimes raw honey is more expensive because of some special flora like Manuka, Jamun, Neem, Tulsi, etc. There are some which have high demand but low supply, or the seller is charging you extra, or it may also be that the rate at which the seller is getting the honey, after removing all other expenses and adding the profit, becomes high. There can be multiple reasons for this; it is difficult to tell any one specific reason.

No, raw honey never expires if it is stored properly. Many people think that honey expires after it crystallises, but this is wrong. Its colour may change slightly with time, its texture may change, but it can never expire if it is stored properly.

Raw honey is absolutely safe to eat, but you have to take care of a few things: it should not be given to children less than 1 year of age, diabetes patients should not be given more than 1-2 spoons, and you should not have any allergy to raw honey.

No, raw honey is not better than organic honey because the nectar for raw honey can come from any flowers, whether it’s organically grown or inorganically grown, but the nectar for organic honey belongs to those flowers or trees that have been grown organically without using any fertiliser or pesticides. An organic honey can be raw, but a raw honey can be both organic and inorganic.
